The Democrats want to start fixing up our roads, highways, byways, airports, bridges etc. That is how president Roosevelt was able to end the great depression. These are things only the public sector can do. Its okay to help the privative sector hire more people and put them back to work, but this must be a two fold effort, if we are to ever get back on track with our economy. By just giving more tax breaks to the rich and hope there will be tricky down economics for the masses of people, as the Republican party want to do, in my opinon will not work.
